Alluvial Mining Equipments
Gold and Diamonds Recovery Systems
The alluvial mining recovery systems can be subdivided into two categories:
Gold recovery systems
1. Sluice box for a coarse to fine gold recovery
2. Jig for a very fine gold or for diamond/gold recovery
When the gold particles are very fine or have forms that prevent it to settle in the sluice box, the next alternative is the jig. Also, sometimes one can work the gravel that has gold and diamonds. In this case the jig is the only recovery system that will recover both minerals at the same time.
Diamonds recovery systems
Out of the various diamond recovery system, the jigs are most simple and reliable when properly set. The only inconvenient is that the volume that can be passed through jig is limited and the material has to be screened to eliminate the over-size and the under-size (sand).
1. Excavator, drag-line or front-end loader fed jigs
2. Gravel pump fed jigs
